New Climate Literacy training course for broadcasters. From the Broadcasting Sustainability Network and DCU’s Centre for Climate & Society

The Broadcasting Sustainability Network has partnered with Dublin City University’s Centre for Climate & Society to develop a bespoke 5-module training course on climate literacy for Irish broadcasters.

The aim of the course is to educate and upskill broadcasting sector professionals on climate change science, policy, and communication. The course will be delivered by DCU lecturers, via zoom, on five consecutive Thursdays from 10.00 – 11.15am each week. Dates and modules are as follows:

22nd September: Module 1 - A layperson’s guide to climate science. With Dr Darren Clarke
29th September: Module 2 - Communicating the climate. With Dr Declan Fahy
6th October: Module 3 - Climate communications for media organisations. With Dr Dave Robbins
13th October: Module 4 - Climate change in popular culture. With Prof Pat Brereton
20th October: Module 5 - Climate change politics, policy and governance. With Sadhbh O’ Neill

The course is open to all Network member organisations and their staff.
